Experience
In high school I wrote for the school paper my junior and senior years. I was the sports editor.
I also filmed basketball games and made news packages on every game. This is where I got a lot of experience editing video.
During my senior year, a friend and I won State in broadcasting. We made a news package regarding the Minnesota Wild. The award was given by the Minnesota State Broadcasters Association.
As far as actual employment, I have worked the past two summers doing construction. The company is called VSI Construction, located in Maple Grove, Minn. I work with a team as we break down and put up office cubicles. I have met many people through VSI and I feel like it has helped my people skills.
Currently I am getting experience on the radio here at OU. I have my own radio show every Friday at 11 am. My brother and I discuss sports related to OU as well as other national sports and pop culture. We have recorded many different sounds that introduce topics and segments. This, hopefully, has added to the show and makes it seem more professional. We are improving with every show.
